Shewit Mikael

Professional Bio

Shewit Mikael is a Ph.D. candidate in Communication Arts and Sciences (CAS) studying rhetoric with a minor in African Studies. She earned her B.A. in communication studies and psychology from the University of Denver and her M.A. in communication and rhetorical studies from Syracuse University. She is interested in Africana philosophy and rhetorics, immigration/migration rhetorics surrounding the African continent, and how inclusive immigration practices function within hegemony, specifically how the rhetorics of inclusivity function within this tension.
