Professional Bio
Patience Okyere is currently pursuing her first year of Ph.D. studies in Applied Linguistics and African Studies at Penn State, and previously completed her Bachelor's and Master of Philosophy degrees in English at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. With a strong interest in the intersection of language and society, she focuses her research on areas such as language policy, decoloniality, southern epistemologies, pragmatics, and gender studies. She is dedicated to using her research to drive societal change and challenge forms of marginalization.
