Professional Bio

Kiersten is a doctoral student at the Department of Education Policy Studies with a minor in African Studies at the Pennsylvania State University. Kiersten is currently interested in the intersections of education policy, law, and global decolonization. Her prior background is in race-conscious education practices. Kiersten holds an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from Washington State University, and her thesis considered the ways that curricula in white educational spaces both perpetrate and perpetuate antiblack violence.
