Professional Bio

Dr. Johannes Wolfgang Fedderke is Director of Economic Research South Africa, Professor at Pennsylvania State University and the Wits Business School. His research uses mathematical and econometric modeling to examine the dynamics of economic activity and strategic behavior, with particular reference to the impact of institutions on long run economic development.

He is the author of more than 70 peer reviewed journal publications, and over 100 peer reviewed publications. Extensive policy work has been for the World Bank, the African Union, the League of Arab States, the South African Reserve Bank, the South African National Treasury, the Departments of Trade & Industry and Arts, Science & Technology, and the South African Parliament. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Cambridge University.
