Bronwen Powell
Professional Bio
Bronwen Powell is an Assistant Professor of Geography, African Studies and Anthropology (courtesy) at Penn State and a Research Associate with the Center for International Forestry Research. Her work examines the social, cultural and environmental determinants of human diet and nutrition. She has spent a large portion of her career living and working in Africa including in: Tanzania, Kenya, Morocco, Ethiopia and Burkina Faso. She holds a PhD in Human Nutrition from McGill University in Canada and an MSc in Ethnobiology from the Department of Anthropology at the University of Kent, in Canterbury, England.
